Tyler is a native of Sicklerville, NJ where he started playing sports at the age of 5 years old. He played football, basketball, baseball, track and karate. He was a stand out baseball player for Erial Little League and a major player on his WTBL basketball team. He went on to play basketball at Anne Mullen Middle School where he was a 3 year starter. In 2008, Tyler graduated from Timber Creek High School (TC) as an Honor Roll student and was also the 3rd boys basketball player to score over 1,000 points making him the second All Time leader in scoring, rebounds & blocks in TC history behind his brother Kyle Hines. Tyler was a four year starter and is a 2 times MVP winner along with earning All South Jersey & All Group III honors. Accepting a full scholarship to the University of Maryland Eastern-Shore, he graduated in 2012 as an honor student with a GPA of 3.75 and was the MVP for the boys basketball team after leading them in rebounds and blocks. In 2013, Tyler started his Professional career in Greece playing for Peristeri BC but he was injured in the last game of the season. He is currently recovering from his injury and hope to be back playing in Europe soon. He is now training kids and helping out with the TC boys and girls basketball teams. Tyler goals for THBA is to teach the kids that hard work does pay off in the end.
